Jharkhand Elections: INDIA Bloc Arrives At Seat-Sharing Agreement For Assembly Polls, Friendly Fight In 3 Seats
Jharkhand Elections: The alliance partners are set for a friendly battle in three assembly seats in the upcoming assembly polls- Dhanwar, Chatrapur and Vishrampur.
The INDIA bloc in Jharkhand has arrived on a seat-sharing formula for the assembly elections in Jharkhand.
Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has fielded candidates in 43 Assembly seats, while the Congress is contesting in 30 seats, RJD from six and CPI-ML in four seats. The JMM, Congress, RJD and CPI-ML are jointly contesting the Jharkhand polls under INDIA bloc.

In Dhanwar seat, the JMM has decided to go for a friendly contest with CPI-ML. Meanwhile, the RJD and Congress have fielded their candidates from Chhatarpur and Bishrampur seats.
The elections to the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly will take place in two phases on November 13 and 20, with counting of votes to take place on November 23. As many as 1,211 candidates are in the fray for the 81 assembly seats.
In Jharkhand, JMM has fielded Chief Minister Hemant Soren from Barhait, Kalpana Soren from Gandey, Basant Soren from Dumka, Assembly Speaker Rabindranath Mahto from Nala and state minister Mithilesh Thakur from Garhwa.
Meanwhile, the Congress released its final list of candidates for the Jharkhand Assembly elections on October 29, naming Shweta Singh from Bokaro and Ajay Dubey from Dhanbad. In its first list, the party named 21 candidates, in the second list it nominated seven candidates, and the remaining two candidates were named in the third list released late on Monday. The party has so far declared candidates on all 30 seats in the state.
The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) had released its list of six candidates for the assembly polls on October 22. The party named Suresh Paswan from Deoghar, Sanjay Prasad Yadav from Godda and Subhash Yadav from Koderma. Rashmi Prakash will contest from Chatra, Naresh Prasad Singh from Vishrampur and Sanjay Kumar Singh Yadav from Hussainabad.
The opposition BJP is contesting on 68 of the 81 assembly seats in the state, leaving the rest for its allies. The party has released two lists so far, naming former state Chief Minister Champai Soren from Saraikella and state chief Babulal Marandi from Dhanwar. It also named Sita Soren, the sister-in-law of JMM leader and Chief Minister Hemant Soren, as its nominee from Jamtara.
