Hemant Soren Alone Will Take Oath Today, Cabinet Expansion After Vote Of Confidence In Assembly

The development comes after the 2024 Jharkhand assembly election results, where the INDIA bloc, led by the JMM-Congress alliance, emerged as the winner.

Hemant Soren, leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), will be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand today at Ranchi's Morabadi Ground. According to sources, Soren will take the oath alone today, with the cabinet expansion to follow after a vote of confidence is secured in the Jharkhand Assembly. Earlier, reports suggested that one minister each from the Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) might join Soren in the swearing-in ceremony.  

This marks Soren’s fourth term as Chief Minister, and the event is set to serve as a significant platform for the INDIA bloc, showcasing its unity and strength. Several prominent leaders from the bloc and other political spectrums are expected to attend the ceremony.

Hemant Soren To Present Job Letter To Martyred Agniveer’s Family After Taking Oath  

Hemant Soren is set to begin his tenure by honouring the sacrifice of an Agniveer martyred in the line of duty. After the swearing-in ceremony, Soren will assume office at the Jharkhand Ministry at Project Bhawan. In one of his first acts as Chief Minister, he will hand over a government job appointment letter and a cheque for Rs 10 lakh to the family of martyred Agniveer Arjun Kumar Mahato at a state-organised event. Arjun Kumar Mahato a resident of Fatehpur village in Bokaro district, was serving in the Indian Army as an Agniveer, a 2023 recruit, when he was martyred during an encounter in Silchar, Assam, on November 22.
