If Priyanka Gandhi Contests Varanasi Seat, PM Modi Will Go Back To Gujarat And Never Return: Congress

Congress leader Rashid Alvi has said that if Priyanka Gandhi contests from the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat, PM Narendra Modi will go back to Gujarat.

Congress leader Rashid Alvi has said PM Narendra Modi will go back to Gujarat and will never come again if Priyanka Gandhi Vadra contests Lok Sabah elections from the Varanasi seat next year. Alvi also said that Smriti Irani will lose her deposit if Rahul Gandhi contests from Amethi Lok Sabha seat. Recently, several opposition leaders have been hinting at a possible battle between Priyanka and PM Modi if they contest from Varanasi against each other during 2024 general elections.

"...If Rahul Gandhi contests from Amethi, Smriti Irani will even lose her security deposit, she might leave Amethi, but I request BJP, don't let her run away...If Priyanka Gandhi will contest from Varanasi, PM Modi will go back to Gujarat and he won't contest from Varanasi," he said.

The BJP retorted saying the Congress has no work to show to seek votes. "They didn't do any work in Amethi. The people of Amethi had defeated you [Rahul Gandhi] earlier; they will defeat you again," BJP leader Tarun Chugh said.

Newly appointed Uttar Pradesh Congress president Ajay Rai on Friday claimed that Rahul Gandhi will have a landslide victory if he contests the Amethi Lok Sabah seat.

"The people of Amethi want Rahul Gandhi to become their MP. If he contests from Amethi, he will have a landslide victory (in 2024 Lok Sabha elections)," Rai said.

Meanwhile, BJP leader and former Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, "Congress treated that constituency (Amethi) as their family's private property and kept chewing the people like chewing gum now people won't forgive them..."
