Himachal Polls 2022: BJP Don't Have Intention To Give Employment, Priyanka Gandhi Targets CM Thakur

“63,000 government posts are lying vacant but you're not getting employment because they (BJP) don't have intention to give you employment," Priyanka Gandhi said during a rally in Mandi.

New Delhi: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Monday targeted Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur-led Bharatiya Janata Party government accusing them of not providing employment to the youths of the state despite thousands of posts lying vacant. Addressing a public rally in Mandi, the Congress leader asked what Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has done for the people of the district.

“What has CM done for Mandi?” she said, quoted by the news agency ANI.

“63,000 government posts are lying vacant but you're not getting employment because they (BJP) don't have intention to give you employment. Today there is unemployment and inflation,” Priyanka said, quoted by the news agency.

Polling in the hill state is slated for November 12 in a single phase and the votes will be counted on December 8.

BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be addressing six rallies in two days starting from tomorrow, November 1.

He will also hold closed-door organisational meetings during his two-day visit to the hill state, his office said in a statement, reported news agency PTI.

Shah will stay the intervening night of November 1 and 2 in Shimla and is likely to hold a meeting with the senior leaders of the BJP's state unit, the PTI report stated citing sources.
