Congress Rai candidate Jai Bhagwan Antil said there is a strong wave of the party in Haryana and that competing with the BJP in the upcoming Assembly elections is not a challenging task.
Haryana Assembly Election 2024: Congress candidate Jai Bhagwan Antil, who is in fray from Rai Assembly constituency in Sonipat, made a massive revelation on Saturday regarding the party's Chief Ministerial face. Expressing confidence about the shift in power from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party to the Congress in the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections, Antil said: "The next CM of Haryana will be Bhupinder Singh Hooda".
Speaking to ABP Live, the Congress leader claimed that there is a strong wave of Congress support in Haryana and that the BJP will be overthrown by the grand old party. He also confirmed that the party high command has finalised Bhupinder Singh Hooda as their CM candidate.
On being asked about the competition among the political parties in the state, the Rai candidate sate said that it is not difficult to compete with BJP candidate Krishna Gehlawat, who has been fielded against Antil in Rai.
He said that Gehlawat is a big businessman who will get busy in his business after winning the Haryana Assembly elections. He further stressed that since he is a farmer's son and has come from among them, he would stay among the people at the grass root level. "The people will vote for us and we would continue to serve them even after winning," Jai Bhagwan Antil said.
Addressing the issues Congress aims to tackle after winning the Haryana polls, Antil said that the party will focus on developing the constituency in all aspects including road connectivity, schools, hospitals, and colleges. He also highlighted that water drainage was an issue in the region, which the party would resolve if voted to power.
Meanwhile, Gehlawat, who has been chosen by the BJP to contest from Rai, has also claimed that he would win against Antil in the Haryana Assembly elections. He said he has the support from 36 communities.
Elections will be held in Haryana on October 5 in a single phase. Counting of votes will be done on October 8.
