Gujarat Assembly Elections: AIMIM Declares Names Of Candidates For Two Seats In Ahmedabad And Surat
AIMIM has fielded its state chief Sabir Kabliwala, a former Congress MLA, from Jamalpur-Khadia in Ahmedabad, Dalit candidate Kaushika Parmar from Danilimda (SC) seat and Wasim Qureshi from Surat-East.
New Delhi: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) announced the names of two more candidates on Sunday for the upcoming Gujarat Assembly elections, taking the total number of seats covered by the Asaduddin Owaisi-led party to five.
According to a report by news agency PTI, the official Twitter handle of party chief Asaduddin Owaisi made the announcement of the candidature of Shahnawazkhan Pathan from Bapunagar in Ahmedabad and Abdul Bashir Shaikh from Limbayat in Surat.

It is to be noted that the AIMIM has fielded its state chief Sabir Kabliwala, a former Congress MLA, from Jamalpur-Khadia in Ahmedabad, its Dalit candidate Kaushika Parmar from Danilimda (SC) seat and Wasim Qureshi from Surat-East.
Kabliwala had contested from Jamalpur-Khadia in 2012, as an Independent after he was a denied ticket by the Congress, which fielded Samirkahn Pathan.
Notably, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) earlier in the day released the fifth list of 12 candidates for the Gujarat assembly polls. With the new list, the Arvind Kejriwal-led party has announced the names of 53 candidates so far for the upcoming polls to 182 Assembly seats.
As per the list, Rajesh Pandoriya is the AAP candidate from Bhuj, Jayantibhai Parnami from Idar, Ashok Gajea from Nikol, Jasvant Thakor from Sabarmati, Sanjay Bhatasna from Tankara, Valjibhai Makwana from Kodinar (SC), Ravjibhai Vaghela from Mahuda, Udeysinh Chauhan from Balasinor, Banabhai Damor from Morva Hadaf (ST), Anil Garasiya from Jhalod (ST), Chaitar Vasava from Dediapada (ST), and Bipin Choudhary from Vyara (ST).
