Gujarat Polls: Election Appears To Be One-Sided, Says BJP Chief JP Nadda At Roadshow In Himmatnagar

Nadda said that there is trust and unconditional love for PM Modi here. People in the state are eager to back the BJP after witnessing CM Patel's numerous development initiatives, he added.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President JP Nadda said on Saturday that the election appears to be one-sided because the people of the state have unconditional love and trust for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and several developmental initiatives will ensure that the results favour the party.

Today, he held a roadshow in Himmatnagar, Gujarat.

"People in the state are keen to support the BJP after the way Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel has implemented various development initiatives in the state," Nadda was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

Earlier in the day, the BJP released its manifesto for the upcoming Gujarat Assembly elections, promising to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and to establish an 'Anti-radicalisation Cell' to identify and eliminate potential threats as well as sleeper cells of terrorist organisations and anti-India forces.

Other promises made by the party include creating "20 lakh job opportunities" and growing the state's economy to USD one trillion in the following five years.

In the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and state unit chief C R Paatil, party president J P Nadda released the manifesto at the state BJP headquarters. Other promises in the manifesto include increasing the annual cover under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (Ayushman Bharat) from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh per household and providing free education to girls from "KG to PG" (kindergarten to post-graduation).

The state will hold two-phase Assembly elections on December 1 and 5, with results expected on December 8. It is a three-cornered contest, with the BJP, Congress, and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) all involved.
