Farooq Abdullah's Daughter Shares Throwback Pic With Gandhi Family As NC, Congress Confirm Alliance

Farooq Abdullah's daughter Safia Abdullah Khan shared a throwback picture with the Gandhi family as Congress and NC joined hands for the J&K assembly polls.

As Farooq Abdullah confirmed the alliance of National Conference and Congress ahead of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, his daughter Safia Abdullah Khan shared a throwback picture with the Gandhi family on social media. In the photo, the Abdullahs can be seen posing with the Gandhis which also includes former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and wife Sonia Gandhi, during their visit to Kashmir.

She shared the picture on X with a caption that read: "On a day when Rahul Gandhi is visiting Kashmir I can’t help but remember a visit many moons ago."

This comes as Rahul Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, who are on a visit to Srinagar, called on the NC leadership earlier today amid speculations of possible poll alliance. After the interaction with party workers, Rahul Gandhi and Kharge drove to Abdullahs' residence at Gupkar Road in Srinagar.

Later, NC chief Farooq Abdullah confirmed the alliance between the two parties saying that they "stood together". He also stressed that the parties aim is to reinstate statehood if voted to power in the upcoming polls, slated to be held on September 18.
