Atishi Files Nomination From Kalkaji, To Face Alka Lamba And Ramesh Bidhuri In Delhi Elections
Atishi, accompanied by senior party leader Manish Sisodia, held a roadshow after paying obeisance at Kalakaji temple and a gurudwara in Giri Nagar on Monday.
Delhi Elections: Delhi CM and AAP candidate Atishi filed her nomination from the Kalkaji seat on Tuesday. Atishi was scheduled to file her nomination for the Delhi elections on Monday but she postponed the plan and accompanied AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal for a meeting with Election Commission officials.
Atishi, accompanied by senior party leader Manish Sisodia, held a roadshow after paying obeisance at Kalakaji temple and a gurudwara in Giri Nagar and then proceeded towards the office of the district election officer to file her nomination.
However, as the roadshow got delayed, she went to the Election Commission office without filing the nomination papers. Nominations for the assembly elections can be filed every day until 3 pm.

Atishi, who is seeking re-election, is contesting against former BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri and Congress candidate Alka Lamba. "I have worked tirelessly in my constituency for the last five years. The people of Kalkaji are my family, they see me as their daughter and their sister. I am not just a representative, I am a part of their lives," she said on Monday.
Taking a jibe at the BJP, she accused the party of being anti-poor. She said the BJP is a 'jhuggi virodhi' and 'gareeb virodhi' party.
Delhi Elections Date
The Delhi Assembly Election 2025 will be held in a single phase on February 5 and the results will be announced on February 8. The contest is expected to be a three-corner fight between the Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party, and the Aam Aadmi Party.
Delhi has a total of 1.55 crore voters this year — 83.49 men, 71.74 women, and 1,261 transgenders. As many as 2.08 lakh first-time voters are eligible to cast their ballots.
Moreover, Delhi will have 1.09 lakh voters aged above 85 and there will be 830 centenarians eligible to vote.
