As BJP Sweeps Out AAP In Historic Comeback, Know The Richest And Youngest Winners Of Delhi Polls
The BJP made a historic comeback, winning 48 out of the 70 seats, while AAP, which had been in power since 2015, managed to win just 22 seats.

The high-stakes intense political battle in Delhi ended on February 8, with the Bharatiya Janata Party securing a historic victory and making a comeback after 27 years. Among the 699 candidates who contested, BJP's Karnail Singh turned out to be the richest winner, while the youngest to claim victory is 31-year-old Umang Bajaj, also a BJP leader.
BJP's Karnail Singh contested the Shakur Basti Assembly constituency against AAP sitting MLA Satyendar Jain, who faced a shocking defeat after falling short of 20,998 votes.
Singh has assets worth Rs 259 crore, which maked him the richest winner in Delhi. He is followed by Manjinder Singh Sirsa with Rs 248 crore, who won from Rajouri Garden and Parvesh Sahib Singh with Rs 115 crore. Parvesh Verma secured 30,088 votes, defeating Aam Aadmi Party chief and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal with a margin of 4089 votes.
The youngest candidate to emerge as a winner was 31-year-old Umang Bajaj, who won the Rajinder Nagar Assembly constituency on a BJP ticket. Bajaj, who secured 46,671 votes, defeated AAP candidate Durgesh Pathak by 1231 votes.

On the other hand, the oldest candidate to contest the Delhi polls was Tilak Ram Gupta, who won from the Tri Nagar Assembly seat. The 73-year-old BJP leader bagged 59,073 votes, defeating AAP's Preeti Jitender Tomar by a margin of 15,896 votes.
According to a report by the Association for Democratic Reforms, several leaders have pending criminal cases against them. Out of these leaders, AAP's Amanatullah Khan from Okhla has the highest number of criminal cases (19), followed by AAP's winner from Kondli Kuldeep Kumar, who has seven pending cases. Amanatullah Khan won from Okhla by 23,639 votes, while Kuldeep Kumar won by 6,293 votes.
The Delhi Assembly election results were declared on February 8 after voting was held in a single phase on February 5. The BJP made a historic comeback, winning 48 out of the 70 seats, while AAP, which had been in power since 2015, managed to win just 22 seats. Congress could not bag any seat, just like the previous two elections in 2015 and 2020.
