'Should Act Against Himanta Sarma, Ajit Pawar...': Baghel Hits Back At PM Modi Over 'Action Against Corrupt' Remark

Hitting back at PM Modi over the 'action against corrupt' remark, Baghel said that he should not take selective action and act against Raman Singh, Himanta Sarma, and Ajit Pawar.

Chhattisgarh Elections: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his "action against corrupt' remark. Reacting to PM Modi's remarks, Bhupesh Baghel said on Monday that the Prime Minister should not take selective action and should act against former CM of Chhattisgarh Raman Singh, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, Deputy CM of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar, and others who have been washed in 'Modi washing powder'.

"I want to say that PM Modi should not take selective action. He should take action against Raman Singh, Himanta Biswa Sarma, Ajit Pawar and others who have been washed in 'Modi washing powder'," Baghel said, as quoted by news agency PTI.

Speaking at a rally in Mungeli in the poll-bound state, PM Modi said, "If BJP comes into power, Chhattisgarh will develop rapidly.  The dreams of the youth will be fulfilled. The life of the Mahtari sisters here will become easier. Control of corruption, strict action against corruption will be taken."

During the rally, the Prime Minister said that the countdown to the grand old party's exit from the state has begun now. He said that the time has come for the farewell of those Congress leaders who have looted the people for five years. Polling for 20 out of the total 90 assembly seats in Chhattisgarh was held on November 7. Voting in the remaining 70 seats will be held on November 17.
