BJP Manifesto HP Election: Uniform Civil Code, 8 Lakh Jobs - Know 11 Promises Of BJP's 'Sankalp Patra'
In its manifesto, the saffron party has laid down 11 commitments including uniformity in society, empowerment of farmers and youths, justice to government employees, promoting religious tourism.
New Delhi: Ahead of Assembly polls in Himachal Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday released its manifesto for the hill state. The 'Sankalp Patr' was released by BJP President JP Nadda in Shimla's Hotel Peterhoff. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, Union Minister Anurag Thakur, and State President Suresh Kashyap were also present during the event. In its manifesto, the saffron party has laid down 11 commitments which includes uniformity in society, empowerment of farmers and youths, justice to government employees, and promoting religious tourism.
The eleven commitments enumerated by Nadda in the BJP's manifesto were:
If elected to power, the BJP government will introduce Uniform Civil Code.
- Rupees 3,000 per annum to farmers under Mukhyamanatri Annadata Samman Nidhi.
- Over 8 lakh job opportunities across the state in phased manner.
- Ensuring connectivity of all villlages with all-weather road with an investment of Rupees 5 lakh crore.
- Investment of Rupees12,000 crore to develop infrastructure and transportation around religious places in the state under the name 'Shakti'.
- GST payment for apple packaging to be at 12 percent and additional GST will be paid by the govt
- 5 new medical colleges in the state.
- Mobile clinic vans to be doubled in every constituency.
- 'Him Start Up Policy' with a corpus fund of Rupees 900 crore to promote start up in the state.
- Ex-gratia to increase for family of martyrs.
- Waqf properties in the state to be investiagted as per law and illegal usage to be stopped.
- Discrepancies in remuneration of government employees will be removed.
The saffron party released its manifesto just a day after Congress where it promised to provide one lakh government jobs to the people of the state in its first cabinet meeting if the party is elected to power. In its manifesto, termed 'Pratigya Patr', Congress also promised 300 units of electricity free of cost to each household.
Himachal Pradesh will undergo polls in a single phase on November 12 and the votes will be counted on December 8.
