This Election Is Not About Narendra Modi, It Is For Karnataka And Its People: Rahul Gandhi In Turuvekere
Rahul Gandhi took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that this Assembly election in Karnataka is not about him and it is about Karnataka and the people of the state.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that this Assembly election in Karnataka is not about him and it is about Karnataka and the people of the state. Speaking at a rally in Tumakuru district of Karnataka, Gandhi said that PM Modi comes to campaign for election in Karnataka, but doesn't talk about Karnataka and he only talks about himself.
"This election is not about you, it is for Karnataka and its people. You come to campaign for election in Karnataka, but don't talk about Karnataka; you talk about yourself," Rahul Gandhi said during a rally in the poll-bound state, as quoted by PTI. Continuing his attack on PM Modi, the Congress leader said that PM needs to understand that this election is not about one person and not about him. "This election is not about one person, not about Narendra Modi; PM has to understand this," Rahul Gandhi said, as quoted by PTI.
He also said, "PM speaks about Congress abusing him for 91 times, but didn''t speak anything about what you did for Karnataka." He lashed out at PM Modi and asked, "What did you do to stop corruption and "40 % commission" in Karnataka in last 3 years."
Congress party launched a 'PayCMCryPM' trend campaign on Twitter levelling allegations of commission-grabbing against Chief Minister Basvaraj Bommai and over PM Modi's recent remark where he said that the Congress has abused him "91 times" so far.
The Twitter trending campaign was launched after Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi mocked the Prime Minister on Sunday saying: "I am seeing such a Prime Minister for the first time, who comes in front of you and cries that he was being abused. Rather than hearing your grievances, he narrates his woes."
"Someone in PM Modi's office has compiled a list that is not about people's problems." That list represents the number of times Modi has been abused. At the very least, the list is limited to one page. Look at the insults they (BJP officials) have flung at my family, and if we start creating lists, we'll have to publish book after book after book," she said at a rally at Jamakhandi in Bagalkot district.
