Asked To Stay Out Of Punjab Election: Kumar Vishwas Claims Threat To Life

Vishwas, one of the founding members of the AAP, had earlier claimed that Kejriwal was ready to take support from the fringe and separatist elements to become the chief minister of Punjab.

New Delhi: With the Central government reviewing his security in the wake of separatist allegations against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, poet and former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kumar Vishwas on Friday claimed there is threat to his life as he has been asked to stay out of the Punjab Assembly elections.

“Who are these people who are threatening that “you stay out of Punjab elections, otherwise we will do this, we will do that”. What is at stake for them? So listen strangers and native pythons – wrapped in lies, what do you think about the rest of the truth? coming out of the bill on the sound of a serpent. what do you understand about the life of a flute?” he tweeted in Hindi.

Vishwas, one of the founding members of the AAP, had earlier claimed that Kejriwal was ready to take support from the fringe and separatist elements to become the chief minister of Punjab.

“One day, he (Kejriwal) told me he would either become the chief minister (of Punjab)...or the first prime minister of an independent nation (Khalistan),” he said in an interview.

Kejriwal countered the assertions of Vishwas in an exclusive interview with ABP News.

“They have no idea what kind of impact these statements do (separatist comment) on community. It divides the nation,” said Kejriwal.

“If I have been planning such for 10 years as alleged then why didn't PM Modi or other government agencies take action against me?” he asked.

The AAP national convener said “they (opposition parties) are calling me terrorist for gaining vote bank”.

“I want to ask these parties what have they done so far? Akali Dal, Congress, all calling me a terrorist as part of the poll agenda. If they would have worked for people during their regimes they would not have stooped for such antics,” Kejriwal added.

The AAP too has rubbished Vishwas’ allegations and demanded proof from him to substantiate his claims.

This comes as the allegations against Kejriwal may damage the AAP’s prospects in the Punjab Assembly elections.

Voting for the Punjab Assembly will be held in a single phase on February 20. The results will be declared on March 10.
