Gehlot, Rajnath, Others Congratulate Rajasthan CM-Designate. Here's What Vasundhara Said

However, former CM Vasundhara Raje has so far not made any remarks on the CM's announcement.

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders on Tuesday congratulated Bhajanlal Sharma for being elected as the chief minister of Rajasthan. Sharma, who hails from Bharatpur, is a first-time MLA and won the Sanganer seat in the recently held Rajasthan polls.

He has been the state general secretary for the past 20 years under four state BJP Presidents -- Ashok Parnami, Madan Lal Saini, Satish Poonia, and CP Joshi.

Several leaders, including former chief minister Ashok Gehlot, BJP MP Balak Nath, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP MLA Rajyavardhan Rathore, and state BJP President CP Joshi, extended their best wishes to Bhajanlal Sharma after he was elected as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislative leader.

Taking to social media platform X, Ashok Gehlot said "Hearty congratulations and best wishes to Shri Bhajanlal Sharma on being made the leader of BJP Legislative Party. I hope that while working as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, you will maintain the pace of development of the state and will play a role in fulfilling the goal of making Rajasthan the number 1 state in the country."

Raje congratulated Bhajanlal Sharma for being appointed as CM, and Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa as Deputy CMs.

"Hearty congratulations to Sanganer MLA Shri @BhajanlalBjp on being nominated as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan. We are confident that under the able guidance of respected Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi  you will take the state to new heights of progress. Also, hearty congratulations to Mr. @mladrpremchand and Mrs. @KumariDiya  on being nominated as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state.Hearty congratulations to senior MLA Shri @VasudevDevnani ji for being made the Speaker of the Assembly," she posted.

BJP MP Balak Nath told ANI, "CM Bhajanlal Sharma, Deputy CMs Diya ji and Bairwa Ji and Speaker Devnani ji together will take the state forward."

Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa will be the deputy chief ministers of Rajasthan, and Vasudev Devnani will be the Speaker.  

In a post on platform X, Rajnath Singh said, "Hearty congratulations and best wishes to Shri Bhajanlal Sharma ji on being unanimously elected as the leader of BJP Legislative Party in Rajasthan. I have full faith that Rajasthan will move on a new path of development under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and the leadership of Bhajanlalji. There will also be two Deputy Chief Ministers in the new government of Rajasthan. Mrs. Diya Kumari and Mr. Premchandra Bairwa have been selected in this role. My many congratulations and best wishes to both of them."

Rajasthan BJP MLA Rajyavardhan Rathore said that the desert state has got strong leadership.

"Party makes decisions after careful consideration. Rajasthan BJP has received a strong leadership. I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and all our senior leaders," Rathore said.

BJP leader Kirodi Lal Meena said, "I am very happy. He will take the state ahead. His name was proposed by Vasundhara ji and I forwarded the name...I am not in line for a minister post."

Addressing a press conference, BJP president CP Joshi said, "Today, Bhajanlal Sharma was proposed as the Chief Minister and leader of the legislative party. Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa will be the Deputy CMs. Senior leader Vasudev Devnani will be the Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha...I congratulate all of them once again on behalf of the entire Rajasthan. This is the victory of Modi's guarantee..."

Former chief minister Vasundhara Raje and Union ministers Arjun Ram Meghwal, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Ashwini Vaishnaw were among the frontrunners for the top post.
