Background

Satna: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Ganesh Singh from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 8688 votes. The polling / voting in Satna constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 5 on 6 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Ganesh Singh and Congress Party#s Raja Ram Tripathi

Satna 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 27 out of the 29 parliamentary seat with 54 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just 2 seats with a 34.9 percent vote share.

  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 44485 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Ramanand Singh attained 263011 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Rajendra Kumar Singh bagged 218526 votes
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bahujan Samaj Party candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 22238 votes. Here, Bahujan Samaj Party leader Sukhlal Kushwaha attained 182497 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Virendra Kumar Sakhlecha bagged 160259 votes
