Background

Nalgonda: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Gutha Sukhender Reddy from Indian National Congress (INC) won the elections by a margin of 193156 votes. The polling / voting in Nalgonda constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 1 on 11 April. The major contest is between Telangana Rashtra Samithi#s Vemireddy Narasimha Reddy and Congress Party#s N. Uttam kumar reddy

Nalgonda 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Telangana Rashtra Samithi won 11 out of the 17 parliamentary seat with 33.9 percent vote share while the Congress managed to win just 2 seats with a 20.5 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Nalgonda Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 79.53% Lok Sabha percent with 80.58% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Out of the 9 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Nalgonda, 6 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Gutha Sukhender Reddy of the Indian National Congress as he defeated Tera Chinnapa Reddy by a margin of 193156 votes.

  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Telugu Desam Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 79735 votes TDP candidate Gutha Sukender Reddy had got 427505 while INC got Kanukula Janardhan Reddy votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 24455 votes. Here, Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy attained 314983 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Hanumanthrao.V bagged 290528 votes
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 71757 votes CPI candidate Bommagani Dharma Bixam had got 277336 while BJP got Indrasena Reddy Nallu votes.
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 68577 votes CPI candidate Bommagani Dharma Biksham had got 282904 while INC got Chakilam Srinivasa Rao votes.
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate with a difference of 41850 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Chalilam Srinivasa Rao attained 357733 votes and Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate Rama Sharma Boddupally bagged 315883 votes
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Telugu Desam Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, TDP candidate Mallareddy Raguma Reddy attained 324973 votes and INC's Damodar Reddy Tummalpally bagged 210563 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate by a margin of 53669 votes INC(I) candidate T. Damodar Reddy had got 220952 while CPI got B. Dharma Bhiksham votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between TPS and INC here TPS candidate defeated his INC counterpart with a difference of 5398 votes.
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated CPI candidate by a margin of 92278 votes INC candidate M. Y. Salim had got 169953 while CPI got B. D. Hiksham votes.
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 33396 votes. Here, Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Ravi Narayana Reddy attained 159145 votes and INC candidate Kanchinepalli Pedda Venkatarama Rao bagged 125749 votes
  • 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, PDF candidate had defeated INC candidate by a margin of 53514 votes PDF candidate D. Venkateswar Rao had got 241512 while INC got Gopu Shouri Reddy votes.
  • 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha poll, PDF candidate defated INC candidate in one-sided contest. Here, PDF candidate Sukam Atchalu attained 282117 votes and INC's P. Mahendranath bagged 96837 votes.
