Machilipatnam: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Konakalla Narayana Rao from Telugu Desam Party (TDP) won the elections by a margin of 81057 votes. The polling / voting in Machilipatnam constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 1 on 11 April. The major contest is between Telugu Desam Party#s Komakalla Narayana and YSR Congress Party#s Bala Souri

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Telugu Desam Party won 15 out of the 25 parliamentary seat with 29.1 percent vote share while the YSR Congress Party managed to win just 8 seats with a 28.9 percent vote share.

• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Telugu Desam Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 82996 votes TDP candidate Ambati Brahmanaiah had got 387533 while INC got Kavuru Sambasiva Rao votes.
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Telugu Desam Party candidate by a margin of 81092 votes INC candidate Kavuru Sambasiva Rao had got 355030 while TDP got Kaikala Satyanarayana votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Telugu Desam Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 81507 votes TDP candidate Satyanarayana Kaikala had got 275713 while INC got Kolusu Pedareddaiah Yadav votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Telugu Desam Party candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 27322 votes. Here, Telugu Desam Party leader K.P. Reddaiah attained 298348 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Sambasiva Rao Kavuri bagged 271026 votes
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Telugu Desam Party candidate with a difference of 43489 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Sambasivarao Kavuri attained 354533 votes and Telugu Desam Party candidate Boppana Gangadhara Chaudry bagged 311044 votes
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and Telugu Desam Party here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his Telugu Desam Party counterpart with a difference of 9093 votes.
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated JNP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC(I) candidate Ankineedu Maganti attained 249444 votes and JNP's Buragadda Niranjana Rao bagged 115108 votes.
• 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated BLD candidate by a margin of 76929 votes INC candidate Ankineedu Maganti had got 262551 while BLD got Vadde Sobhanadreswara Rao votes.
• 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defated SWA candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Meduri Nageswarrao attained 278514 votes and SWA's Venkataswamy Mandala bagged 73640 votes.
• 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated CPM candidate by a margin of 77592 votes INC candidate Y.A. Arasad had got 199885 while CPM got M.H. Rao votes.
• 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Independent and INC here Independent candidate defeated his INC counterpart with a difference of 4212 votes.
• 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and IND here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his IND counterpart with a difference of 7551 votes.

खबर आई है कि जम्मू और कश्मीर में कल बॉर्डर से सटे स्कूल बंद रहेंगे. कल एलओसी व अंतरराष्ट्रीय सीमा से पांच किलोमीटर दूरी तक के 12वीं तक के सभी स्कूल बंद रहेंगे. इसके अलावा अमृतसर प्रशासन ने एड्वाइज़री जारी की है कि आज रात एयर ड्रिल होगी. सायरन बजेंगे लेकिन लोग ना घबराएं.
