Kodarma: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Ravindra Kr. Ray from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 98654 votes. The polling / voting in Kodarma constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 5 on 6 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Annapurna Devi and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik)#s Babu Lal Marandi

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 12 out of the 14 parliamentary seat with 40.1 percent vote share while the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha managed to win just 2 seats with a 9.3 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Kodarma Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 62.51% Lok Sabha percent with 61.55% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Meanwhile, 63.59% Lok Sabha percent of the women voters cast their votes and 6712 Lok Sabha voters pressed on the NOTA

Out of the 20 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Kodarma, 18 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Ravindra Kr. Ray of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Rajkumar Yadav by a margin of 98654 votes.

Here, Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) leader Babu Lal Marandi, attained 199462 votes and Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) Liberation candidate Raj Kumar Yadav bagged 150942 votes
• 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Jharkhand Mukti Morcha candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Babulal Marandi attained 366656 votes and JMM's Champa Verma bagged 211712 votes.
• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 10178 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Tilakdhari Pd Singh attained 273808 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Ritlal Prasad Verma bagged 263630 votes
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate by a margin of 97911 votes BJP candidate Ritlal Prasad Verma had got 280635 while RJD got Avid Hussain votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated JD candidate with a difference of 46954 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Ritlal Prasad Verma attained 243295 votes and JD candidate Ramesh Prasad Yadav bagged 196341 votes
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, JD candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 14122 votes. Here, JD leader Mumtaz Ansari attained 162419 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Ritlal Prasad Verma bagged 148297 votes
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Ritlal Prasad Verma attained 243805 votes and INC's Tilakdhari Prasad Singh bagged 141511 votes.
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Tilak Dhari Singh attained 208731 votes and BJP's Ritlal Pd. Verma bagged 97348 votes.
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, JNP candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 22366 votes. Here, JNP leader Reet Lal Pd. Verma attained 108236 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Javed Warsi bagged 85870 votes
• 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, BLD candidate defated INC candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BLD candidate Ritlal Prasad Verma attained 169387 votes and INC's Chaplendu Bhattacharyyia bagged 53359 votes.

लोकसभा चुनाव की मतगणना कल 23 मई को होनी है इससे पहले सपा नेता और रामपुर से पार्टी प्रत्याशी आजम खान ने एक बार फिर ईवीएम की सुरक्षा पर सवाल खड़े किए हैं। आजम ने कहा कि जब मशीन सील होती है तो उस पर पीठासीन अधिकारी के दस्तखत होते हैं लेकिन जब गिनती के लिए इन मशीनों को खोला जाता है तब वह पीठासीन अधिकारी उस वक्त मौजूद नहीं होता, जो यह पहचान सके कि यह दस्तखत उसके हैं या फर्जी हैं या उसकी जगह स्कैन करके किसी दूसरी मशीन पर यह दस्तखत लगा दिए गए हैं, इतनी अच्छी स्कैनिंग होती है कि ओरिजिनल ही नजर आता है। इस बात की क्या तस्दीक है, क्या प्रमाण है कि जब मशीनें खोली जाएंगी गिनती के लिए और वह पीठासीन अधिकारी मौजूद नहीं होगा ,जिसे पहचानना है कि यह मशीन उसी के दस्तखत वाली मशीन है या नहीं है तो आप यह कैसे भरोसा करेंगे, कि यह वही मशीन है जिस मशीन को सील किया गया था।

स्ट्रांग रूम में रखे ई वी एम की सुरक्षा को लेकर आज बलिया में चुनाव आयोग के निर्देश पर मीडिया को उसकी सुरक्षा का निरीक्षण कराया गया ताकि उसकी पारदर्शिता बनी रहे। स्ट्रांग रूम की निगरानी में पैरा मिलिट्री के साथ ही सी सी टी वी कैमरा भी लगा हुआ है । उप जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी का कहना है कि परिंदा भी पर नही मार सकता ।

प्रगतिशील समाजवादी पार्टी के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष शिवपाल सिंह यादव ने कहा कि अपने अपने एग्जिट पोल में सब ने बता ही दिया है लेकिन सही स्थिति कल दोपहर 12:00 बजे क्लियर हो जाएगी और मुझे तो लगता है कि 12:00 बजे के बाद रुझान आने शुरू हो जाएंगे और कुछ परिणाम आ भी जाएंगे तो जब परिणाम आने ही हैं एग्जिट पोल का कोई मतलब नहीं रह जाता लेकिन हम अपनी अंतरात्मा से कह रहे हैं हमारी अंतरात्मा बोल रही है कि हम तो फिरोजाबाद से चुनाव जीतेंगे ही, इसमें कोई शक नहीं है इसके साथ साथ सरकार बने चाहे यूपीए की बने या एनडीए की बने हमारी सब को जरूरत होगी।

चुनाव आयोग की बैठक खत्म। चुनाव आयोग ने विपक्ष को झटका देते हुए वीवीपैट मिलान की याचिका खारिज की। वीवीपैट मिलान की प्रक्रिया में कोई बदलाव नहीं होगा।
