Ghatal: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Adhikari Deepak (Dev) from All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) won the elections by a margin of 260891 votes. The polling / voting in Ghatal constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 6 on 12 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Bharati Ghosh and All India Trinamool Congress#s Deepak Adhikari

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, All India Trinamool Congress won 34 out of the 42 parliamentary seat with 39.8 percent vote share while the Communist Party of India (Marxist) managed to win just 2 seats with a 23 percent vote share.

• 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated CPI candidate by a margin of 53572 votes INC candidate Nikunja Behari Maity had got 165597 while CPI got Nikunja Chowdhury votes.
• 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, interesting battle could be seen between Communist Party of India (Marxist) and INC here Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate defeated his INC counterpart with a difference of 4519 votes.

बीजेपी के वरिष्ठ नेता और गृह मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने लोकसभा चुनावों में बीजेपी की संभावित जीत को 'ऐतिहासिक' करार देते हुए इसे प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के 'मजबूत, दूरदर्शी' और पार्टी प्रमुख अमित शाह के 'गतिशील' नेतृत्व का नतीजा बताया. सिंह ने सिलसिलेवार ट्वीट कर कहा कि भारत के लोगों ने एक बार फिर मोदी के नेतृत्व में भरोसा दिखाया है और बीजेपी नीत राजग को निर्णायक बहुमत दिया है. उन्होंने कहा, 'प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी और बीजेपी के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष अमित शाह से फोन पर बात की और लोकसभा चुनावों में बीजेपी नीत राजग को शानदार जीत दिलाने के लिए उन्हें बधाई दी.'

राजस्थान की पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री वसुंधरा राजे ने लोकसभा चुनावों में बीजेपी की संभावित जीत और पार्टी को नयी उंचाईयों पर ले जाने का श्रेय प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी के पांच वर्षो में किये गये काम और उनके दूरदर्शी नेतृत्व को दिया. उन्होंने इसके लिए मतदाताओं का आभार व्यक्त किया है. बीजेपी मुख्यालय पर संवाददाताओं से बातचीत में राजे ने कहा कि पार्टी के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष अमित शाह के योग्य नेतृत्व में पार्टी ने नई उंचाईयों को छुआ है. उन्होंने चुनाव परिणामों के लिए मतदाताओं, पार्टी कार्यकर्ताओं और राज्य बीजेपी के अध्यक्ष मदन लाल सैनी को राजस्थान में बीजेपी की संभावित जीत के लिये धन्यवाद दिया.
