Ambala: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Rattan Lal Kataria from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 340074 votes. The polling / voting in Ambala constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 6 on 12 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Shri Ratan Lal Katariya and Congress Party#s Kum. Selja

Ambala 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 7 out of the 10 parliamentary seat with 34.7 percent vote share while the Indian National Lok Dal managed to win just 2 seats with a 24.4 percent vote share.

Out of the 14 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Ambala, 12 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Rattan Lal Kataria of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Raj Kumar Balmiki by a margin of 340074 votes.

  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Rattan Lal Kataria attained 357460 votes and INC's Phool Chand Mullana bagged 232982 votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Bahujan Samaj Party and Bharatiya Janta Party here Bahujan Samaj Party candidate defeated his Bharatiya Janta Party counterpart with a difference of 2864 votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 87147 votes BJP candidate Suraj Bhan had got 253555 while INC got Sher Singh votes.
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 71942 votes INC candidate Ram Prakash had got 196406 while BJP got Suraj Bhan votes.

Here, Indian National Congress leader Ram Parkash attained 264074 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Suraj Bhan bagged 241425 votes

  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate defeated PSP candidate with a difference of 11233 votes. Here, Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader P. K. Vasudevan Nair attained 170170 votes and PSP candidate Baby John bagged 158937 votes
  • 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 30195 votes. Here, Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Punnoose, P. T. attained 167211 votes and INC candidate Mohammed Sheriff K. P. bagged 137016 votes
  • 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, Indian National Congress candidate defeated BJS candidate with a difference of 44383 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Tek Chand attained 98249 votes and BJS candidate Sohan Lal bagged 53866 votes

ঘড়ির কাটায় তখন সাড়ে সাতটা কিংবা তার কিছুটা বেশি। দিল্লির দিনদয়াল উপাধ্যায় ভবনে বিজয়ী ভাষণ সমাপ্ত করেছেন বিজেপি সভাপতি অমিত শাহ। অন্ধ্রপ্রদেশ, ওড়িশা ও সিকিমে নতুন সরকার গঠনের আগে নরেন্দ্র মোদির সেনাপতি আগাম শুভেচ্ছা জানালেন ওয়াইএসআর কংগ্রেস, বিজেডি ও এসডিএফ-কে। সঙ্গে একহাত নিলেন তৃণমূলকেও। নাম না করে বিঁধলেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়কে। বাংলায় যেভাবে ‘সন্ত্রাসের বিরুদ্ধে’ লড়াই করে বিজেপি গেরুয়া নিশান উড়িয়েছে, তাতে দলের প্রতিটি কর্মীকেই অভিবাদন জানালেন শাহ। এরপরই নিজের বক্তব্য পেশ করতে উঠলেন নরেন্দ্র দামোদর দাস মোদি। করতালিতে তাঁকে স্বাগত জানাল উদ্বেলিত জনতা। আসন ছেড়ে উঠে দাঁড়িয়ে নরেন্দ্র মোদিকে অভিবাদন জানালেন শাহ, রাজনাথ সিংহ সহ শিবরাজ সিংহ চৌহানের মতো নেতারা। বলা শুরু করলেন মোদি। শুরুতেই ভারতীয় জনতা পার্টির সভাপতি অমিত শাহকে শুভেচ্ছা জানালেন তিনি। এরপর গোটাটাই ‘দোশাত্মবোধক’ ভাষণে এগিয়ে নিয়ে গেলেন নিজের বক্তব্য। “এই জয় মোদির জয় নয়, দেশবাসীর জয়”, বক্তব্যের শুরুতেই বললেন নরেন্দ্র মোদি। তারপরই ১৩০ কোটির ভারতকে আশ্বস্ত করলেন, তিনি দেশের গণতন্ত্র, সংবিধানকে অক্ষত রেখে সরকারের প্রতি দায়বদ্ধ হয়ে সবার জন্য কাজ করবেন।

সংখ্যারিষ্ঠাতা পাওয়ার পর এদিনও বিরোধীদের বিরুদ্ধে একদফা সুর চড়াতে শোনা গেল প্রধানমন্ত্রীকে। তাঁর বক্তব্য, বিরোধীরা ধর্মনিরেপক্ষতার মুখোশ পরে মানুষকে ঠকাতে চেয়েছিল। মোদির বক্তব্য, দেশের মানুষ নব্য ভারতের পক্ষে রায় দিয়েছে।
