The University of Bath has opened its applications for MSc Global Public Health and Policy for the academic year 2024-25.

The University of Bath is now accepting applications for the MSc Global Public Health and Policy for the 2024-25 academic session. This program is designed for students eager to delve into the significant public health challenges confronting society. It caters to those seeking to enhance their understanding of the geopolitical, social, and environmental factors influencing public health and welfare. The curriculum emphasizes analyzing these fundamental causes while examining the impact of policy at both macro and micro levels. Through real-world case studies, students will develop critical assessment skills at the intersection of policy and epidemiology. The course is led by experienced public health professionals with diverse expertise and industry connections across various public health and policy domains.

Application Deadline: 30 June 2024

The session will commence from September 2024 and the application deadline for this course is 30 June 2024.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates should typically have a Bachelor's degree, in an appropriate health subject, with a final overall result of at least First Class. Due to the number of different grading scales in use, candidates should upload a copy of the grading scale used by their institution, along with their transcript, when they submit their application. It may be possible to consider applicants with an undergraduate degree in other subjects where there is substantial relevant professional experience. They must submit a personal statement with details about their relevant academic qualification, why they want to pursue the course, and outlining their future aspirations.

The English language requirements are a minimum of either a 6.5 IELTS score with no less than 6.0 in all components, a Pearson Test of English Academic score of 62 with no less than 62 in the writing element, and no less than 59 in all other elements, or a TOEFL IBT score of 90 overall with a minimum of 24 in the writing component and a minimum of 21 in all other components. Students that graduated within the last 5 years from an Indian university where the medium of instruction is English, and with at least 75% for English in their Indian 12th Standard examinations, may be able to submit evidence of this instead. Other accepted language qualifications are detailed on Bath's website.

Fees Structure:

Developed by the Department for Health, the fees for this course are £26,500 for Indian students starting in September 2024. Students pay a £1,000 deposit after receiving their offer, this will be deducted from tuition fees after registration.

The students will get an opportunity to work alongside research-active academics, as well as representatives from Centres and Groups across the Department of Social & Policy Sciences – all of which have strong links with health organizations across the globe. Students will be given the choice to do a Practice Track project as an alternative to a dissertation. During the project, students will work on a consultancy or research-based project with one of Bath’s external partners across the public health industry (in the UK and overseas). They will conduct research, analyze data, and produce a written report and presentation with their solutions.
