SSC paper leak case: The Supreme Court on Monday has indicated that it may cancel the Staff Selection Commission's (SSC) graduate-level 2017 examination. Observing that it was too difficult to ascertain how many aspirants took benefit of the malpractices, the apex court today said it is better to cancel the 2017 SSC examination and conduct a fresh test. The court has sought central government's response in the matter.
Earlier on August 31, the Supreme Court had stopped SSC's combined graduate level and senior secondary level test results declaration. It had then remarked that the entire system appeared to be tainted and mentioned that at first glance, there are shortcomings in the examination process. Therefore, it could not allow candidates who took advantage of the malpractices to get into government service.
There have been several irregularities which were reported in the SSC’s combined graduate level exam, held in the month of February. Several aspirants carried out protest alleging mass cheating followed by allegations that the paper had been leaked.
