'Sonia's Love For Son Preventing Priyanka's Growth Within Party,' Says Gandhi Family Close Aide Pankaj Shankar

In an exclusive interview to ABP News, Shankar said: “It has been 15 years since Rahul Gandhi entered politics, but his internship period is just not getting over.”

New Delhi: Core member of Rahul Gandhi’s team and a very trusted aide of the Nehru-Gandhi family Pankaj Shankar launched a bitter attack on party president Sonia Gandhi and former president Rahul Gandhi. Terming party’s general secretary Priyanka Gandhi as a more able leader, Shankar said that Sonia Gandhi’s blind love for her son, led to party’s decline. In an exclusive interview to ABP News, Shankar said: “It has been 15 years since Rahul Gandhi entered politics, but his internship period is just not getting over.” Targeting Sonia Gandhi he said that she has still not moved on from “putra moh” (love for her son). He also alleged that Rahul Gandhi is preventing Priyanka from being made the party president. He praised Priyanka and said that she is one such leader of the party, who has managed to instill fear in the minds leaders of other parties. He said that Rahul has been continuously experimenting within the party. If this continues the party will soon be reduced to nothing. He also questioned Rahul Gandhi’s political achievements and his way of working. He said Gandhi does not like to interact with people. He follows a certain group of people within the party and acts upon their advice. Terming Rahul Gandhi as an unpredictable leader, he said nobody knows what Rahul Gandhi could do within 10 minutes. Reacting to Shankar’s allegations, sources within the party said that since last few years Shankar is neither associated with party nor with Priyanka Gandhi and  therefore his allegations hold no grounds.
