School Reopening Update: After the continuous decline in the cases of Corona, now preparations have started for the reopening of schools and colleges.
School Reopening: With the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, schools, colleges, and other educational institutions across the country have been closed for a long time. Although some states had approved the reopening of educational institutions for some time last year, this year given the fatal consequences of the second wave of the Corona pandemic, schools-colleges, and other educational institutions were closed again. Now that Corona infection cases are declining every day, the question of when schools-colleges and other educational institutions will open is in the minds of every student.
However, the states are now considering resuming teaching and learning activities in educational institutions. Let's see in the list which states are preparing to reopen schools.
Bihar
As per the orders of the Government of Bihar, educational institutions in the State have opened from 12th July 2021 i.e. today. During this period, 11th and 12th standard schools, all degree colleges, all government, and private universities and technical institutes in the state have been opened with 50% attendance of some student strength. Significantly, the government has given strict instructions to all schools and colleges to follow the Corona guidelines. At the same time, instructions have been issued to make special arrangements for thermal screening at the gate of the institute. Let us inform you that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had also recently announced information regarding the reopening of schools and colleges on Twitter. He had said, “Universities, all colleges, technical educational institutions, government training institutes, schools up to class 11th and 12th will open with 50% attendance." Special arrangements will be made for immunization of adult students and girl students, teachers, and staff of educational institutions.
Maharashtra
The Maharashtra government has decided to reopen schools in areas where no positive case of Corona infection has been reported in the last month. Schools have been allowed to resume offline classes for students of classes 8 to 12 from July 15. Corona vaccination of all teachers and non-teaching staff in the respective schools will be done on a priority basis before the school starts.
Haryana
The Haryana government had announced on July 9 that schools would reopen following social distancing from July 16 for classes 9 to 12. If the situation remains normal, schools will be reopened for other classes. Whereas schools for classes 6 to 8 will reopen from July 23. However, online classes will continue and students who want to continue taking them will be allowed to do so. Also, students will be allowed to come to school only after obtaining written permission from their parents. At present schools from classes, 1 to 5 will remain closed and any decision on reopening them will be taken later.
Punjab
Schools in Punjab started offline classes for classes from 5 to 8 in January. However, a large number of students did not attend offline classes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, due to which schools had to conduct online classes as well. In May, Punjab State Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla announced summer vacations for all educational institutions in the state from May 24 to June 23. In June, the minister announced that physical offline classes for the medical stream would start from June 28.
Gujarat
Schools for class 12 students and colleges for undergraduate and post-graduate students in Gujarat are reopening from July 15. ANI agency quoted Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani as saying that, "However, the option of online study will also continue for the students who want to attend the school and attendance will not be made compulsory."
Uttar Pradesh
The Uttar Pradesh government has reopened primary and upper primary schools for teachers and staff to continue administrative work. At the same time, students are still not allowed to come to school till further orders. Currently, online are classes being conducted in the state.
Puducherry
With the second wave of the pandemic slowing down and the decline in Coronavirus cases, Puducherry has decided to reopen all government and private schools for students of classes 9 to 12 from this Friday, July 16. Making the announcement, Chief Minister N Rangaswamy said that all colleges in the Union Territory will also reopen from July 16.
Andhra Pradesh
The state is considering reopening educational institutions with 50% attendance in August. In this regard, AP Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh said, “How we start classes depends on the third wave of Covid-19. If we feel that it is not safe for the students, then we can consider 50 percent attendance at different times and on alternate days." But this is still under discussion. The final call will be taken later. At the same time, there is also news that the government is considering organizing classes in two batches.
Odisha
The Odisha government has launched live streaming of online classes on YouTube for students from class 1 to 10 on June 21. An official notification said that online classes for classes 9 and 10 will continue till July 31, while online classes for classes 1-8 will continue till July 7. School and Mass Education Minister Sameer Ranjan Das said that no decision has been taken regarding the resumption of physical classes in the state.
Delhi- No decision has been taken yet on starting offline classes in the national capital Delhi. Given the fear of the third wave of Corona, it has been decided to continue online classes for the students.
Karnataka
Re-opening of colleges in the state is being considered from July 19. Preparations are being made to open government and recognized colleges with the presence of 64 percent students and 85 percent staff.
