However, parental consent has been made mandatory for children coming to school. Schools will also have to follow the Covid protocol completely. The order issued by the government states that the schools will have to appoint a nodal officer who will ensure proper conduct of Covid on the part of the students and will take action in case of any violation. According to the order, it is mandatory for all students, teachers, and staff members to wear masks, follow social distancing and wash hands frequently. The order states that if anyone observes symptoms like fever, cough, or cold in the school premises, the nodal officer shall immediately inform the district administration and health officers in consultation with the school management and the principal. Along with this, teachers, staff members, and students residing within the school premises will be allowed to enter the school only after producing the RT-PCR test report within 48 hours. The order also states that schools will follow a 'hybrid mode' of education, according to which classes will be conducted simultaneously both physically and online through live streaming on mobiles and devices. At the same time, schools will not open for classes 1 to 5 in the state, and the education of the students will continue online.
Jharkhand Schools from class 9 to 12 open:
In Jharkhand, schools from class 9 to class 12 have been opened from today. However, a condition has been imposed that the corona infection rate in the respective districts should be one percent for the last seven days. Significantly, the state-level body of parents of school students has opposed the move and said that the government should wait for some more time in view of the threat of a possible third wave of the corona pandemic before reopening the schools.
