Physics Wallah Opens 50 New Offline Centres, Plans To Offer Scholarships Worth Rs 160 Cr
Physics Wallah has invested around Rs 82 crore to launch 50 new offline centers under the brand name "Vidyapeeth Centers".
New Delhi: Physics Wallah, an ed-tech firm, announced the launch of 50 new offline centres, branded as "Vidyapeeth Centers", with an investment of approximately Rs 82 crore in technology for these units, a senior company official said on Monday. The company also plans to award scholarships worth aroun Rs 160 crore in the upcoming academic year, as reported by PTI.
"We have added 50 Vidyapeeth Centres with investment of USD 10 million (Rs 82 crore) in technologies at these centres. We will be leveraging in-house tech innovation and offline solutions to help students achieve their goals. Vidyapeeth centers will offer support for more than 15 hours a day, and students will also have the provision to escalate any issue to our head office via the PW app," PTI quoted PW co-founder Prateek Maheshwari as saying.
Vidyapeeth is a technology-integrated classroom that includes 650 smart classroom Physics Wallah already operates 11 Vidyapeeth centers in different cities throughout India.
"Through Vidyapeeth, top-quality education is made accessible to students in remote parts of the country, enabling them to study in their own cities. We aim to help parents save money that would have been spent on hostel fees and other living expenses - which is typically twice the amount of academic fees," PW founder Alakh Pandey said.
Students can access regular daily practice problems, video quizzes, and homework monitoring on the parent-student dashboard at the Vidyapeeth centers. Physics Wallah will also upload all lectures on its app after every class.

Physics Wallah has already registered over 90,000 students in the current academic year and aims to reach 1.5 lakh registrations during the upcoming session for JEE, NEET, and foundation exam preparations. The ed-tech firm has also provided scholarships worth USD 12 million (approximately Rs 98 crore) to deserving and financially disadvantaged students for the 2023-24 academic year through its PW Scholarship and Admission Test (SAT).
"The company further aims to give such scholarships worth USD 20 million (about Rs 160 crore) in the next academic year," PW said.
