NEET Controversy: Amid rumours, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has assured the public that its website and all related web portals are fully secure. Allegations suggesting that the NTA’s websites were compromised and hacked are incorrect and misleading. Amidst this controversy, rumors started spreading on social media and other platforms, claiming that the NTA’s websites had been hacked, which added to the anxiety of the students and their families. These rumors suggested that personal information and examination data might have been compromised.

The NTA's confirmation aims to reassure students that the integrity of the examination process and their personal information remains intact. The agency continues to prioritise the security and reliability of its online systems and urges the public to rely on official communications for accurate information.

The NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) controversy began when several candidates reported issues during the examination, including receiving incorrect question papers and torn OMR sheets, which resulted in time loss. Consequently, the NTA awarded compensatory marks to the affected candidates. This decision led to a massive uproar, as it significantly altered the results, with some students receiving unexpectedly high scores.

The NEET UG  2024 paper leak case is currently under investigation by the CBI and in the recent developments the central probe agency has filed an FIR to investigate the matter amidst the ongoing row.

"It has been alleged in the complaint that University Grants Commission (UGC) received inputs on 19.06.2024 from National Cyber Crime Threat Analysis Unit of Indian Cyber Crime Co-ordination Centre(I4C) under Union Ministry of Home Affairs that integrity of UGC Net -2024 Examination, conducted by National Testing Agency(NTA) on 18.06.2024 in two shifts across different cities in the country, may have been compromised," the statement read.
