NEET UG Controversy: 186 Centres Lacked CCTV Cameras and Proper Strong Room Guards

NEET UG Controversy: 186 NEET UG examination centers were found without CCTV cameras and proper guards for strong rooms.

NEET UG Controversy: In the recent developments surrounding the NEET UG controversy, ABP News has reported that out of 399 centres inspected by a third party, 186 centres were not equipped with CCTV cameras while there was no security in the strong room of 68 centres, and in 83 centres, staff was changed. The lack of CCTV cameras and adequate security in strong rooms raises serious questions about the exam's reliability and fairness.

During the NEET UG 2024 exam, there were many centres where there were no CCTV cameras. The duties of the staff members was constantly getting changed, causing confusion. Some centers even left their strong rooms unguarded where they keep NEET UG exam papers, as per the ABP News report.

This raised concerns about cheating or tampering in the NEET UG exam 2024. Amidst allegations of irregularities, paper leaks, and a significant increase in merit list scores, numerous medical aspirants are demanding a re-examination for NEET-UG 2024. The Centre's decision to revoke grace marks for 1,563 students has failed to pacify their concerns.

The National Testing Agency has received a lot of criticism because of problems with the NEET UG results announced on June 4, which happened on the same day as the Lok Sabha election results. Many students scored a perfect 720/720, which was unusual, and some got 718 or 719 marks, which people thought couldn't happen in the exam. The NTA said this was because the exam was "easier than usual", they gave extra marks to students who lost time because of mistakes by NTA staff and supervisors, and there was a wrong question in the exam.
