NEET PG: Supreme Court To Hear Plea Seeking Transparency Of Results Tomorrow

After the 4th delay, the Supreme Court will hear the plea for transparency in NEET-PG results tomorrow, November 26, 2024.

The Supreme Court will hear the plea seeking transparency of results tomorrow, November 26, 2024. On Wednesday, the Court delayed the hearing again, marking the fourth postponement in recent months. The case, which calls for increased transparency in the postgraduate medical entrance exam by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), has left aspirants frustrated as they await clarity on the exam process.

The plea demands the release of answer keys and question papers for NEET-PG 2024, as well as the standardisation of marks, following the test's division into two parts to ensure transparency in the selection process. NEET-PG is held for admissions to postgraduate courses after MBBS and BDS. The results, declared by the NBE on August 23, have raised concerns among students due to unexpectedly low rankings.

After comparing their scores with unofficial answer keys, many students questioned the accuracy of the rankings. They requested the NBE to publish the official answer keys and set up a grievance portal to address these issues.

NBEMS Releases Updated Leave Guidelines for Medical Trainees

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) issued an advisory on November 22, 2024, outlining comprehensive leave rules for trainees in its Postgraduate (PG) medical programmes. The new guidelines aim to standardise leave entitlements and ensure trainees complete their training within the designated timeframes.

Trainees are allowed a maximum of 30 days of leave per year, which includes weekly or duty-off days. For female trainees, maternity leave is granted as per state or central government policies, while male trainees are eligible for up to two weeks of paternity leave. Any leave beyond the 30-day entitlement will lead to an extension of the training period, which could affect eligibility for final exams if it exceeds the prescribed cut-off date.
