NEET PG 2024 Counselling: Supreme Court To Hear Result Transparency Plea Tomorrow

The NEET PG 2024 counselling schedule has not been released yet, as the hearing in the Supreme Court is pending and scheduled for tomorrow.

NEET PG 2024 Supreme Court Hearing: The Supreme Court will hear the NEET PG case filed by 19 aspirants against the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), demanding greater transparency in the NEET PG Exam and its results. More than a month into the registration process, candidates are still waiting for the MCC NEET PG 2024 counselling schedule for admission into MD, MS, post-MBBS diploma, DNB, and related courses. It is expected that the Medical Counselling Committee will release the counselling dates once the case concludes.

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test—Postgraduate (NEET PG 2024) was conducted on August 11 at 416 exam centers nationwide, with 2,28,540 candidates registered. Despite aspirants' demands that the answer keys be released, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) announced the results on August 23, stating that the exam content would not be made public in line with its admission policy. The NEET PG 2024 cut-off was also not revealed along with the results.

This year, candidates were informed just days before the exam that it would be held in Shift 1 from 9 AM to 12:30 PM and Shift 2 from 3:30 PM to 7 PM.

Aspirants are particularly frustrated by the lack of transparency in the results process. They voiced their dissatisfaction with the NBEMS for introducing sudden changes just three days before the exam, as well as concerns about the unclear marking process and other related issues.

Aspirants repeatedly requested the National Board of Examinations (NBE) to release the answer key, along with their normalised and raw marks. However, they received no response from the Board. Frustrated by the lack of transparency and the last-minute changes to the exam process, 19 students filed a petition with the Supreme Court, seeking redress for their concerns.

Notably, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is tasked with overseeing the counselling process for 50% of the All India Quota (AIQ) MD and MS seats across the nation.
