Maharashtra CET 2020 Postponed After Concerns Over Covid-19 Exposure
Maharashtra Government has postponed MHT CET 2020 as the Coronavirus crisis continues to be a major concern.
New Delhi: The Maharashtra Government has announced its decision to postpone the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) 2020. ALSO READ | Bombay HC Directs Maharashtra Govt To Clarify Stand On ICSE Board Exams Amid Covid-19 Scare
Minister of Higher and Technical Education Uday Samant revealed the decision on Twitter. According to the official statement, the decision was taken after considering the request of students and parents.
Maharashtra Common Entrance Test 2020 was scheduled to be held in July and the first week of August. The new dates will be to be announced later.
The tests are conducted for admissions in courses like B.E./B.Tech. and B.Pharm/Pharm. D. The results will also be used for admitting candidates in B.Sc. (Honours) and B.Tech. courses in Agriculture for the academic year 2020-21. Earlier from June 5 to June 10, the cell had allowed students to change their district centres.

As Maharashtra continues to be the worst-affected by the coronavirus crisis, people have been anxious about risking exposure while appearing for exams. Hence considering these concerns, some exams are once again being postponed and boards are seeking alternative methods of assessment.
Meanwhile, Bombay High Court has asked the Maharashtra government to clarify its stance over ICSE board exams being held in July as the coronavirus crisis remains on the rise. ICSE on Monday asked for more time to submit its plan for alternate assessment.
