Karnataka PUC Exams Begin Today: Over 7 Lakh Students To Take Exams At Over 1000 Centres

The 2nd Karnataka PUC Exams will be held from March 9 to 29. Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee calls off bandh citing PUC exams.

The second Karnataka PUC Exams began today on March 9, 2023. The Department of Pre-University Examinations, Karnataka, will be conducting the Karnataka PUC Exams from March 9 to March 29, 2023. As per official stats by the Department, over 7 lakh students will be appearing for the PUC exams at over 1000 exam centres across the state. The admit cards for the PUC exams were already released earlier by the board. 

On Thursday, March 9, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavraj Bommai took to twitter to mark the commencement of the PUC exams and wished good luck to all students appearing for the exam. “I wish all students, appearing in the PUC exam, the very best. PUCs are very important when they've to decide their future - professional & other courses. So, I wish all students to get excellent marks & excel in their careers with flying colours.”

Before appearing for the Karnataka PUC Exams, candidates are advised to check all exam details and guidelines carefully. Earlier, the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation had announced that it will provide free bus services to ferry students to and from the exam centres. While taking the buses on exams, all that candidates need to do is show their exam hall-tickets to the bus conductor to avail the free pass.

Earlier, Karnataka Education Minister B C Nagesh had stated that no student will be allowed to appear for the PUC Exams in religious outfits, including female students in Hijab. Earlier this Month, the Supreme Court turned down a plea seeking permission to allow muslim girls to appear for the Karnataka PUC Exams wearing Hijab. 

In the wake of the 2nd PUC Exams, the Karnataka Congress also rolled back its call for bandh on March 9. The Karnataka State Congress party had called for a two-hour bandh from 09:00 AM to 11:00 AM on March 9, to create awareness among the public against BJP corruption. 

“Parents & Students have reached out to me & CLP Leader to withdraw the ‘Karnataka Bandh’ call for 9th March by the Congress in view of PUC Exams on 9th March.Our youth is 1st priority.KPCC has decided to withdraw the Bandh. Our struggle against BJP Corruption shall continue,” Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar, tweeted from his official handle.
