Class 10 Student Scams Candidates By Selling Fake 'Leaked' MP Civil Services Exam Papers

According to an Indore Police officer, the student targeted job aspirants to quickly accumulate money for his lavish desires, such as fashionable attire and dining at upscale restaurants.

Indore police, investigating a cyber crime involving the sale of fake "leaked" MP Civil Services Exam (Prelims) question papers, were astonished to discover that the suspect was a class 10 student. The student, hailing from Rajasthan, had learned fraudulent techniques from YouTube and intended to use the illicit earnings to purchase luxurious clothes and shoes.

According to an Indore Police officer, the student targeted job aspirants to quickly accumulate money for his lavish desires, such as fashionable attire and dining at upscale restaurants.

The young fraudster had also deceived people by claiming to sell the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) paper.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Tushar Singh revealed that the student, from Jhunjhunu district, set up a Telegram channel where he falsely advertised access to the preliminary round papers of the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) examination held on June 23. He offered these fake papers for Rs 2,500 each, providing a QR code on the Telegram channel for UPI payments.

"Once a payment was made using this QR code, the student would block the buyer's mobile number," ACP Singh explained. "In this way, he managed to scam two to four candidates."

The student had no genuine state service exam papers and had fabricated the story of leaked papers to con candidates.

"The student claimed he learned the art of online fraud from YouTube. He intended to use the scammed money to purchase high-end clothes and shoes, and to enjoy dining at expensive restaurants," ACP Singh added.

The student has been issued a notice under the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), and a thorough investigation into the cheating case is ongoing.

In addition, the student is alleged to have committed fraud by pretending to sell the NEET paper, a case currently being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) with assistance from Rajasthan Police.
