J-K Universities Reopening: The Jammu and Kashmir government is preparing to open universities this month. This decision has been taken after the increase in the number of vaccinations in the union territory. In Jammu and Kashmir, 65 per cent of the people above the age of 18 have got at least the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

At a function in Srinagar today, Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, in response to a question asked, said that the administration led by him is contemplating reopening all colleges and universities in Kashmir after vaccinating students above 18 years of age.

Planning to open Inter Colleges, Colleges and Universities- LG Sinha

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function at SKICC in the banks of Dal Lake, LG Sinha said, the government was fully aware of the demands of parents regarding the reopening of schools in Kashmir. LG Sinha said, "We are planning to open inter colleges, colleges and universities this month, only after vaccinating all the students above the age of 18 years. After colleges and universities, the government will also consider reopening primary and secondary schools.

From next month, the annual examinations will start in the educational places falling in the winter zone of Jammu and Kashmir. This time, the government has already announced a 30-40 per cent reduction in the syllabus for class 10th and 12th. But after this decision of the administration, it is believed that this time all the exams may be in "offline" mode.
