Govt Approves 30–Crore Grant To Develop VAMNICOM As Centre Of Excellence For Cooperative Education And Training

The Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM) will be developed as Centre of Excellence for Cooperative Education and Training with a grant of Rs 30 Crore.

The Ministry of Cooperation has approved a grant of Rs 30 crore to develop the Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM) as a Centre of Excellence for Cooperative Education and Training.

The fund will be used to enhance the infrastructure of the institution by constructing a new hostel and cafeteria for students and trainees, providing cooperative training to international trainees as per the MoU, world class hostel, construction of training room, and installation of lift in management education building to create necessary infrastructure. 

Established in the year 1962, the VAMNICOM is a key Centre for Cooperative Management Training, Research and consultancy, functioning under the National Council for Cooperative Training. The VANICOM is also promoted by the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India. 

In its functioning, the institute facilitates several cooperative training programmes for high-level officials of the State and Central Government like Presidents/Managing Directors/Chief Executive Officers/Members of the Board of Directors of State and National Cooperative Federations.
