First State Education Achievement Survey To Be Conducted On November 3, Covering 11 Million School Students

The State Education Achievement Survey will serve as the precursor to the Education Ministry's annual National Achievement Survey (NAS), which is conducted at the district level.

The National assessment regulator PARAKAH will conduct the first State Education Achievement Survey on November 3, 2023, as per officials. Targeting school students up to the block level across states, the survey will look to identify areas that require improvement. The survey shall serve as a precursor to the Education Ministry's annual National Achievement Survey (NAS), which is conducted at the district level. 

Moreover, the survey shall be the first survey conducted by the Performance Assessment, Review and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development (PARAKH), an organisation under the NCERT, Officials familiar with the development told PTI. It is tasked with bringing the school boards across the states and the Union territories on a common platform.

The first SEAS (State Education Achievement Survey) 2023 is scheduled to be conducted on November 3, 2023. The survey has been designed to further the learning standards for students of class 3, 6, and 9. Functioning at the block level, the survey will build upon a wider range of competencies ranging from foundational, preparatory to middle stages of education.
