Delhi University College Announces Graded Detention For Students With Low Attendance

As per the graded detention system, admit cards will be issued to these students only after they submit an undertaking to cover up for the attendance deficit in the next semester.

The Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of the Delhi University has announced the implementation of graded detention for students with less than 40% attendance. The college made the announcement though an official notification, PTI reported. The new circular from the Shaheed Bhagat Singh College has it that students of the college will not be allowed to appear for different number of papers based on their attendance percentage.

Under the new graded detention system, students with attendance between 30 per cent to 39.99 per cent will not be allowed to appear for one paper. Correspondingly, students with attendance percentage between  20 to 29.99 will not be allowed to appear for two papers while those with 10 per cent to 19.99 per cent attendance will be barred from appearing in three papers. Those students who have less than 10% attendance will not be allowed to appear for any paper in th exams.

In line with the new graded detention system proportional to the low attendance, admit cards will be issued to these students only after they submit an undertaking to cover up for the attendance deficit in the next semester, the official notification was reported as saying.
