The 122-pager compendium enlists details for 113 academic courses citing the eligibility criteria for Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral level, along with course names and institutions offering the same.

CBSE is in the concluding stage of conducting the Class 12th Board Exams 2019, and to facilitate students passing Class 12th this year, the Board has released an comprehensive list of courses available after +2 namely ‘Compendium of Academic Courses After +2’. The Central Board of Secondary Education is known to engage with students and parents in real time and had earlier released a series of letters for pre-exam psychological counselling and smooth conduct of examination. In a first of its kind of initiative, the country’s largest education board has included names of various colleges and institutions across India, the courses available after +2, eligibility criteria for the same along with other details. The 122-pager compendium enlists details for 113 academic courses citing the eligibility criteria for Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral level, along with course names and institutions offering the same. The courses covered range from Aeronautical Engineering to Bio Medical Engineering, from Robotics to Cyber Security, Fisheries to Oceanography, Ayurveda BAMS to Rehabilitation Psychology, Law to Journalism, amongst many others. The target audience for CBSE’s ‘Compendium of Academic Courses After +2’ is not only students who will be passing class 12th, but class 10th students also who can make an informed decision while choosing their stream for +1/+2. “As a sequel to the ongoing initiatives CBSE has prepared a compendium of suggestive courses for students which will help them get information about various course choices, institutes and combinations available in higher education beforehand after class X itself.” states Anita Karwal, Chairperson CBSE, in the press release for this initiative. The list of courses to pursue after class 10+2 has been compiled keeping in mind traditional, new age as well as most popular courses provided by over 900 universities and over 41,000 colleges in the country. However, CBSE has suggested candidates to visit the official websites of UGC, AICTE and other universities/institutions to explore more details and courses. “The purpose of this compendium is to generate enough curiosity in the students to explore further on the scope, possibilities, avenues, for each of these courses and to look for other options beyond these courses as well,” reads the letter from CBSE.
