CBSE Class 10 Marking Policy Released, Results To Be Declared on June 20

According to the notice, the board will announce the results of the CBSE class 10 board examination on June 20, 2021. The results will be prepared based on the objective criteria set by the board.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Saturday released an official notification regarding the CBSE class 10 marking policy on its official website. In view of the covid-19 pandemic, the board had canceled the class 10 board examination to be held from May 4 to June 7, 2021. 

According to the notice, the board will announce the results of the CBSE class 10 board examination on June 20, 2021. The results will be prepared based on the objective criteria set by the board. However, if any candidate is not satisfied with their results will be given an opportunity to appear for the written examination which will be held only after the conditions are conducive. 

Students of class 10 will be accessed out of a maximum of 100 marks for every subject. "The Internal Assessment for 20 marks will be as per the existing policy laid out in circular number  Acad-11/2019  dated  March   6,   2019, available at http://cbseacademic.nic.in/web  material/Circulars/2019/11  Circular  2019. pdf. Based on the circular,  Internal Assessments have already been done by the schools and a majority of schools have uploaded their data on the CBSE portal. It is requested that all schools should upload the marks of Internal Assessment latest by June 11, 2021, as communicated earlier," reads the official notice. 

Due to the cancellation of the CBSE class 10 board exam, the assessment of the rest of the 80 marks will be done by the school:

a) on the basis of the marks scored by the candidate in the different exams conducted by the school

b) the marks should be in sync with the past performance of the school in CBSE class 10 examinations.

As per the marking policy, the results of the class 10 students will be finalized by an eight-member committee formed by the schools. The committee will be headed by the school principals. 

Following exams will be used for school-based assessment of class 10 students:

Category of test/exam Maximum marks
Periodic test/unit test 10 marks
Half-yearly/ midterm exams 30 marks
Pre-board exams 40 marks
TOTAL 80 marks
