CBSE Class 10, 12 Students Allowed To Appear For Pending Board Exams From Their Present Districts, Says Govt

The exams, which were postponed due to a nationwide lockdown imposed on March 25 to contain the spread of COVID-19, will now be held from July 1 to 15.

New Delhi: Giving a major relief to stressed Class 10 and 12 Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) students, Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Wednesday announced that students who moved to different places due to corona induced lockdown can appear for the pending board exams from the districts/states they are at present. In a video message posted on his Twitter handle, minister said that students will not be required to travel back and be allowed to appear for pending board exams at the centres falling nearer to their present location. "Class 10 and 12 students who have to appear in pending board exams but have moved to different state or district during the lockdown when schools were closed, will be able to appear for exams at their present place only. They will not be required to travel back," Nishank said. Minister further said that the CBSE will issue a notification in this regard and soon announce modalities of registrations for such requests. Students are required to be in constant touch with their respective schools to know the about the exam centres allotted to them and the procedure to get registered for the same. Earlier this week, Pokhriyal had announced that the pending CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 Board Examinations will be conducted across 15,000 centers around the country. The number of centres were increased to maintain social distancing and prevent the spread of Coronavirus. The exams, which were postponed due to a nationwide lockdown imposed on March 25 to contain the spread of COVID-19, will now be held from July 1 to 15. Students can check the dates for Class 10 and 12 CBSE board exams at CBSE's official website: cbse.nic.in.
