CAT 2023 Registration To Close On Sep 13, Check Details On Results And Admission Process

CAT 2023 application form is available on the official website on iimcat.ac.in.

Lucknow: The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow is conducting the Common Admission Test 2023 (CAT 2023). The last date to complete the registration is September 13, 2023 at 5:00 pm. Applicants are advised to complete their registration well in advance to ensure a smooth and hassle-free process, while also avoiding any last-minute rush. The examination is scheduled to take place on November 26, 2023. Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates applying for the exam must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  1. Completed Bachelor’s Degree: Applicants should have completed a Bachelor's degree from a recognised institution, with the required percentage of marks.

  2. Completed Professional Degree: Candidates with professional degrees like CA, CS, ICWA, or those who are Fellows of the Institute of Actuaries of India (FIAI) are eligible, provided they have the required percentage of marks.

  3. Final Year Candidates: Those in their final year of Bachelor’s degree can also apply, given that they meet the required percentage of marks.

The minimum percentage of marks for eligibility varies:

  • For General, EWS, and NC-OBC candidates, a minimum of 50% is required.
  • SC/ST/PwD candidates should have a minimum of 45%.

Exam Centres:

The CAT 2023 exam will be conducted in 155 cities. While the CAT Centre aims to allocate one of the preferred choices to candidates, in cases where certain regions experience high demand, the organising body retains the authority to assign a center near any of the preferred options. Once a center is allotted, candidates are not allowed to request any changes. It's important for candidates to carefully consider their preferred choices during the selection process.

Results And Admission Process:

The CAT results are likely to be declared by the second week of January 2024. The CAT 2023 score will be valid only till December 31, 2024 and will accordingly be accessible on the website. Candidates must note that their performance in the CAT 2023 examination is an important component for consideration in the selection process. IIMs may also use the previous academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience and other similar inputs in short-listing of candidates at various stages of the selection process.
