Noida: Schools To Remain Closed On September 22 Due To Trade Show, MotoGP

All schools of all boards in Noida and Greater Noida will remain closed from September 21, 02:00 pm till September 22, 2023, due to the upcoming trade fair and MotoGP 2023.

All schools in Noida and Greater Noida regions will remain closed on September 22, in the wake of the upcoming International Trade Fair and MotoGP. The District Inspector of Schools (DIOS), Gautam Buddha Nagar in an official order asked all schools of all boards to remain closed from September 21, 02:00 pm till September 22, 2023. Notably, Noida is gearing up to host two major events in the coming days. While the International Trade Fair is scheduled to be held at the India Export, Greater Noida from September 1 to September 25, the MotoGP 2023 will be held at the BIC (Buddha International Circuit) from September 22 to September 24, 2023. 

Considering the high expected footfall in the International Trade Fair and the MotoGP 2023 with significant number of international participants expected as well, the closure of schools come as a precautionary move from the Gautam Buddha Nagar district administration to minimize traffic congestion along the city and to prevent students and parents from possible inconveniences.

“In the upcoming events to be held in the Gautam Buddha Nagar district which include the International Trade Fair which will be held from September 21 to September 25, 2023, at the Greater Noida Expo Centre, and the MotoGP 2023 which will be held from September 22 to September 24, 2023, at the Buddha International Circuit in Greater Noida, a huge footfall of participants and visitors is expected. Therefore, from the law and order, security, and traffic movement point of view, the district officer has directed all schools in the district of all boards to remain closed from 02:00 pm of September 21 2023, to September 22, 2023,” reads the official notice in this regard. 

Traffic Restrictions During MotoGP

Ahead of the inaugural MotoGP, several traffic restrictions have been imposed in Noida. Heavy, medium and light goods vehicles will be barred from Delhi to Noida from 6 am September 21 till 11:59 pm on September 25.

No vehicles will be allowed to play on Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, Yamuna Expressway, Pari Chowk Greater Noida, Expo Mart Knowledge Park and special routes -- IFS Villa roundabout to NSG roundabout, Chuhadpur Underpass Chowk, Gautam Buddha University Chowk, Noida International University trisection, Galgotia University trisection.
