'Tried To Strangle Me': Dehradun Woman Allegedly Thrashed By Bouncers At Gurugram Club

A woman from Uttarakhand has alleged, that she was beaten up by bouncers in a Gurugram club without any reason.

A woman from Uttarakhand was reportedly ‘thrashed’ by bouncers at a club in Gurugram, as confirmed by police authorities on Friday. According to a PTI report, the woman, identified as Aditi, alleged that the bouncers at the club attempted to “strangle her” and threw her out "without any reason". The incident occurred on Wednesday and was captured on the CCTV cameras installed at the club.

Aditi, who hails from Dehradun, recounted the harrowing experience and stated that the incident occurred at a club situated in a service lane beside the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway near Signature Tower. She was with her friends, according to the complaint filed by Aditi. 

Around midnight, three to four bouncers, including two women, approached Aditi and her friends, allegedly hurling abuses at them before starting a fight, according to her complaint. Aditi stated that the bouncers instigated the altercation without provocation, leading to physical violence.

"They started abusing me without any reason and started fighting as I was defending myself. During this, Megha (a bouncer) started hitting me. The male bouncers tried to strangle me and threw us out of the club. During this, I got injuries on my neck, chest and face and my T-shirt also got torn," Aditi said in her complaint, as per PTI.

Acting upon the complaint, the police have confiscated the CCTV footage from the club and a probe is underway, Inspector Manoj Verma, SHO of the police station told PTI.

"We have confiscated the CCTV footage from the club and the probe is underway. The accused will be arrested soon," said Verma.

As per the PTI report, based on the complaint, an FIR was registered against the bouncers under sections 323 (causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Sector 40 Police Station on Thursday, said police.
