Swati Maliwal Case: AAP MP Sanjay Singh Says Kejriwal's PA 'Misbehaved', Delhi CM Will Take Action

AAP MP Sanjay Singh condemned an incident where CM Arvind Kejriwal's PA allegedly misbehaved with Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal. CM Kejriwal is said to be taking strict action and AAP supports Maliwal.

AAP MP Sanjay Singh on Tuesday shed light on the alleged incident where Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's Personal Assistant Bibhav Kumar the previous day 'misbehaved' with the party's Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal who was waiting to meet the CM. He remarked that CM Kejriwal would take strict action on this matter while assuring the party's support for Maliwal, who has also previously served as chief of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW).

"Yesterday, a condemnable incident took place. Swati Maliwal had gone to Arvind Kejriwal's residence to meet him. While she was waiting for him in the drawing room, Vaibhav Kumar allegedly misbehaved with her. The CM has taken cognisance of the matter, and he will take appropriate action," said AAP MP Sanjay Singh.

"Chief Minister Kejriwal has taken note of this entire incident, and he will act firmly in this matter. Swati Maliwal has done significant work for the country and society. She is one of the senior and longstanding leaders of the party. We all stand with her," he remarked.

Swati Maliwal 'Being Silenced': Delhi BJP President Virendraa Sachdeva

Delhi BJP President Virendraa Sachdeva slammed the AAP statement terming it 'insensitive'. "...A woman was misbehaved with inside the CM residence and you are saying that cognizance will be taken. This only shows that AAP is insensitive. If such an incident happens with a woman at the CM residence who is responsible? At that very moment, the police should have been called. Even after 26 hours, police are not talking about taking any action...Swati Maliwal is being silenced due to political pressure and efforts are being to suppress the entire incident," he told news agency ANI.

AAP's Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal on Monday reportedly visited the Civil Lines police station to report the incident, alleging assault by a member of the CM's personal staff. However, formal complaints have yet to be lodged, according to police officials, news agency PTI reported.
