'First And Biggest Loss Of BJP's Political Conspiracy': AAP On Sanjay Singh's Bail

Delhi minister and AAP leader Gopal Rai alleged that Dinesh Arora was "forced" to become the approver who told the ED that Sanjay Singh had no role in the excise policy case.

The Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday slammed the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party saying its MP Sanjay Singh's bail is the "first and biggest loss" of BJP's "political conspiracy". Delhi minister and party leader Gopal Rai said that Singh was locked up him in jail on the basis of allegations while no evidence or money trail was found against him.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted bail to Sanjay Singh in the Delhi excise policy case. A bench headed by Justice Sanjiv Khanna granted conditional bail to Singh allowing him to take part in political activities.

The Enforcement Directorate told the apex Court that it has no objection to give bail to the AAP MP.

"Supreme Court has granted bail to Sanjay Singh and the ED was speechless before the SC - Sanjay Singh was in jail for 6 months. No evidence or money trail was found. You locked him up for 6 months on the basis of allegations," Rai said.

Appearing for Singh in court, senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi made several scathing arguements against ED's case and said that the entire case by the enforcement agency was based the statements of approver Dinesh Arora.

He pointed to the apex court that Arora in fact made 9 exculpatory statements in favour of Singh before finally naming him.

Rai alleged that the BJP "forced" and "threatened" Arora into becoming an approver.

"He told you 9 times that he (Sanjay Singh) has no role (in liquor policy case). He was forced to become approver and got a forced confession from him following which he (Sanjay Singh) was jailed," he said.

"You have jailed the Chief Minister too on the basis of similar allegations. Your agency couldn't find any evidence for 2 years. Still the BJP is adamant into arresting us and putting us behind bars," Rai said.

"Sanjay Singh's bail is the first and biggest loss of BJP's political conspiracy. These conspiracies will be further exposed," he added.

After recieving relief from the court, Singh is supposed to be walking out of the jail on Wednesday but his wife Anita Singh said there would be no celebrations until other party leaders, including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Satyendra Jain, are also released
