New Delhi: In a disturbing incident in Haryana, a video has emerged of a man beating his wife with a baseball bat in public in Panchkula district. The footage, seemingly captured by a bystander, captures the man confronting his wife and another individual inside a car before launching a violent attack with the bat.
Police have arrested the man after the video got viral and a case has been registered against him. The accused has been identified as an official of the Haryana heath department, as per a report in Hindustan Times.
Despite the woman's pleas to stop, the assailant continues to strike her, shattering the car window in the process. In the video, the man can be heard accusing his wife of cheating. Notably, the man who was with the woman inside the car did not come to the rescue and kept watching the commotion, as per a report of India Today.
As the woman's cries for help, bystanders in the park swiftly intervened, thwarting the assailant's attack and ensuring the woman's safety. Police authorities have confirmed that an FIR has been filed against the man, prompted by the complaint lodged by his wife.

A police official stated, "A complaint of physical assault has been lodged by the wife against her husband. We will arrest the accused soon and appropriate action will be taken,"
The victim alleged that she tried calling 100 and 112, but her call did not get through. She then called her brother and told him about the incident. The victim said she fell unconscious on reaching home, only to wake up at 12.30 pm when her son returned from school. Police registered a case under Sections 323,427,506 of the Indian Penal Code against the accused and two others in Chandimandir police station as per a report of HT.
According to local media reports, the husband alleged that the woman, his wife, was indulging in excesses and spending money unnecessarily, as per a report of Free Press Journal.
