Delhi's January Days Coldest In 13 Years, Says IMD Data
According to IMD, Delhi experienced its coldest January in the last 13 years this year.
Delhi Weather: Delhi has experience its coldest January in the last 13 years with the average maximum temperature of 17.7 degrees Celsius, official data till Tuesday revealed. The average minimum temperature of the capital during the same time stood at 6.2 degrees Celsius -- second lowest in 13 years, the data showed. This comes as the capital and the nearby areas continue to reel under heavy fog affecting flight and train operations.
The year-wise on the average temperature for January data was shared by an official of the weather department on late on Tuesday. The data said the average maximum temperature in Delhi during January 1-30 stood at 17.7 degrees Celsius, the lowest in 13 years.
Comparatively, the highest maximum and minimum temperatures recorded for the entire month were 19.7 degrees Celsius and 7.5 degrees in January 2012, and 19.0 degrees and 6.1 degrees in January 2013, respectively. The lowest average minimum temperature in the national capital during January was in 2013, with corresponding figures of 17.9 degrees Celsius and 8.5 degrees in January 2015, and 18.0 degrees and 8.2 degrees in January 2022.
