Delhi Weather: Partly Cloudy Skies With Gusty Winds Predicted For Today As Mercury Soars
Cloudy skies with gusty winds are expected in Delhi today as maximum and minimum temperatures remain above the season's average
Delhi is likely to witness cloudy skies with gusty winds with a speed of upto 30-40 kilometres per hour on Monday, as per the forecast by the India Meteorological Department. The weatherman also predicted that the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to settle at 34 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius, respectively.
On Sunday, the national capital recorded a maximum temperature of 35.2 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average, as per the weather department while the relative humidity oscillated between 85 per cent and 27 per cent.
According to a PTI report, Saturday remained the warmest day in March with the maximum temperature settling at 37.8 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature at 21.8 degrees Celsius, four notches above the season's average, according to the IMD.
On Saturday, the national capital recorded an Air Quality Index in the "moderate" category with a reading of 181 at 9 am, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
An AQI between zero and 50 is considered "good", 51 and 100 "satisfactory", 101 and 200 "moderate", 201 and 300 "poor", 301 and 400 "very poor", and 401 and 500 "severe".

According to IMD senior scientist Naresh Kumar, temperatures are expected to remain above normal with heat wave conditions in the months of April and May. "We are expecting above-normal temperatures as we are approaching April. In April, we will experience heat wave conditions over the central part of the country," he said while speaking to news agency ANI.
"May is the warmest month of the seasons and the country may experience heat waves over northwest and central India," he said adding that "as per our long-term predictions, there will be abnormal temperatures and heat wave conditions may prevail over the central part of the country for the next two-three months."
