Bomb Threat At Top Delhi School, Officials Say No Suspicious Object Found

This is the second instance in a month of a school in the city receiving bomb threat after a similar incident occurred in Sadiq Nagar's Indian School on April 12.

New Delhi: Delhi Public School, Mathura Road in the national capital received a bomb threat via e-mail, said the Delhi Fire Service on Wednesday, adding investigation was underway, reported ANI. Following probe, Delhi Commissioner of Police South East, Rajesh Deo said that no suspicious object was found on the premises. "The situation is normal. Bomb Disposal Squad, Dog squad and SWAT team sanitising the school buildings," he said, reported the news agency.

This is the second instance of a school in the city receiving a bomb threat in a month after a similar incident occurred in Sadiq Nagar's Indian School on April 12. The school was evacuated after an e-mail containing a bomb threat was received after which Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad arrived at the scene.

Later, Deputy Commissioner of Police South Chandan Choudhary said that the threat was "most likely a hoax".

The school received a similar threat in November 2022 through an e-mail stating that an explosive was planted on the school premises. The bomb and dog squad were called and the school was evacuated.

However, nothing was recovered the officer believed that someone had pulled a prank.
